Beadhead Rubber Legged Hare's
Ear

Tied by Chad Christenson
My goal this year
was to have the fly with the longest name. I used to fish a size 14 Gold
Hare's Ear a lot when I first started. I did catch a few fish with it, but
after a while, I switched over to Pheasant Tails and Prince Nymphs for a my
main nymph. One of the reasons was every time I picked up a rock in the
stream, the bugs crawling on the rocks were mostly dark in color. Thus, the
Hare's Ear was used less and less. This year, I decided to put a twist on it
and added rubber legs. I don't know if it will help, but it was something
different.
