3906 #16 (ties about the same size fly as a standard #18 dry fly hook, but you
get a little more hook strength).
Thread: 8/0 Olive
Tail: 3 Pheasant Tail fibers and 1 piece Root beer Krystal Flash
Abdomen: Pheasant Tail fibers with Roo tbeer Krystal Flash rib
Wing: Snowshoe hare’s foot, tied long and then clipped even
with end of abdomen
Thorax: Brown / Olive
This is an adaptation of Ross Mueller’s Fuzzball
that has become my favorite for early season BWO hatches. I
treat the wing and thorax with floatant and fish as a dry / emerger.
