The Holy Grail

Hook: TMC 2499 sz 14

Thorax: Bead, copper or brass, sized to fit hook

WT: 3-4 turns of .015 lead free

Thread: Ultra 70 Fl. Green

Rib: Pearl Tinsel Sm flat

Dubbing: Hare's Ear Plus Olive

Wing case: Mallard or turkey quill

Legs: Partridge

 

1. Put bead on hook

2. Twist wt on hook

3. Attach thread and secure wt at thorax. It is very helpful to hold bead in place. Wrap back.

4. Tie in pearl tinsel

5. Dub slender body

6. 5-6 wraps of tinsel over the dubbed body, secure and tie off. 

7. Tie in wing case, shiny part down

8. Dub a little bit to hide quill, hold bead in place and give body the right look.

9. Whip finish and apply a dab of cement

10. Push bead in place at thorax and re attach thread.

11. Tie in wing case over bead.

12. Tie in legs or tie was soft hackle. 

13. Form head, whip finish, apply head cement.
