Comments: This hatch occurs late May into early June for several weeks. On certain streams, the hatch can be tremendous, producing many fish days. It is an easy fly to fish because of its size and color. The spinner fall occurs later in the evening, and that too can provide some great action. The fly that is pictured used wood duck in the hackle area, where as the one the directions calls for Z-Lon , CDc, or poly-pro yarn. This is one of the better hatches in southeast Minnesota in my estimation, as long as the water levels and clarity are cooperative.
