Light Hendrickson Emerger/Dry

Tied by Dave Anderson

Hook: TMC2487 (#14-16)

Thread: yellow 8/0

Tail: dun zelon

Body: dirty yellow dry fly dubbing

Post: gray or white polypropeline yarn

Wings: gray swiss straw

Hackle: dun

This is an easy tie: post first, then the zelon shuck.  Wrap the dubbing to the post, then tie in a wing or a pair of wings.  Tie in the hackle three turns and whip finish. (You can certainly substitute medallion wing sheeting for the swiss straw.  In my opinion the fly works better if the wings are a bit submerged.  The post and hackle keep it afloat anyway)

I routinely fish this in tandem with another dry fly.  I tie this one 24 inches or more behind a regular Hendrickson dry pattern.
