My submission for this year is a variation of the Shillinglaw Emerger described in Ross Mueller’s “Fly Fishing Midwestern Spring Creeks”.   The pattern in Ross’s book is intended for BWO hatches.  I modified it for the Light Hendrickson hatch here in SE MN.  I also incorporated Ice Dubbing to make it brighter and flashier. I plan to fish it deep on a nymph rig with a lift and as a dropper behind a dry fly.  It might also work as an emerger in the film, but it doesn’t have a lot of buoyant materials in it.
