Biot/CDC Emerger

Submitted by Bob Collier

Hook: TMC 100 (18-22)

Thread: Olive or other to match body.

Body: Olive Goose Biot.

Emerger Wing: Dun CDC

Thorax: Brown Superfine Dubbing

Instructions:

Wrap thread on the hook to form a base. Tie in the biot by the tip at the hook bend. Wrap biot forward 2/3 of the hook length. Make sure the biot overlaps to form a nice segmented body. Tie in the CDC with the tip facing forward, nice full plume CDC works the best. Touch dub a light amount of the Superfine slightly darker than the body. Take two turns of dubbing over the CDC where it is tied onto the biot. Lift the CDC and take on turn of dubbing in front of the wing. This should prop the wing up slight while it still will face over the eye of the hook.  Finish a neat head.

Fairly simple to tie, Can be fished in the film as a trailer behind a dry I have also fished it in tandem in a nymph rig.
